We're celebrating Hudson's first year.
He's been magnificent so far -
hitting all of his baby-marks and,
way beyond that,
his joy and charm and essential calm
have given a whole lot of people a whole lot of joy.
One little boy, a whole lot of joy.
We're lucky to have him.
We wish him the happiest birthday a very small person can have.

It seems only yesterday that the miracle of Hudson appeared in this world. It is hard to fathom it has been over a year. His mother touched the hearts of so many people at Baylor in a most profound and lasting way. One of the true joys of my life's work is the ability to vicariously share the joys, hopes and trials of so many people's lives. In a small way I become a small piece of thread in the tapestry of their lives. The magic of Lins was her ability to become so integral a thread in other's lives even in her death. She profoundly touched so many people in Labor and Delivery. To watch Hudson grow and flourish in the love that surrounds him is a blessing to see. He is truly a gift from God and living proof miracles do still occur. Thank you for this blog as it allows me to share in his path in life. God surely blesses you and your family in so many ways.
